Program Description:
The College of Arts and Sciences is currently researching programs for approval in Francophone Africa.

In the meantime, students are encouraged to petition to non-approved programs that meet their academic needs. Don’t know where to start? The two program providers below have programs in Francophone Africa that may interest you.  Their programs can serve as a launching point to your research into other study abroad programs.  Each petition will be evaluated individually to make sure that the program is appropriate for the student’s course of study and academic success. Students may look beyond this list in order to find a program that meets their academic needs. In researching programs, please keep the following criteria in mind:
  • the program’s curricular offerings must be in a field that is contained in the College of Arts and Sciences
  • a minimum of four CUs  must be transferred back to Penn;
  • usually 5 semesters of French
  • students typically should  take courses in French through the program
  • an internship should not form a substantial part of the program as students will not receive academic credit

More information on the petition process can be found on the Penn Abroad website. Penn Abroad Program Managers can provide guidance to students on researching possible programs.
