Global Internship Program (GIP): DAS Marketing Consultants

DAS Marketing Consultants LogoThe Internship: This internship is ideal for students studying marketing or public relations who want to gain experience working at a major international firm.

Number of Spots Available: 4

Duration: 8 weeks

Start Date: June 2018

The Organization: A division of Omnicom Group Inc., DAS Marketing Consultants manages Omnicom's holdings in a variety of marketing disciplines, including customer relationship management, public relations, and specialty communications.  DAS includes more than 190 companies, which operate through a combination of networks and regional organizations, serving international and local clients through more than 700 offices in 71 countries.  Candidates will be interviewed for several different organizations within DAS.

The Location: Students will have the opportunity to interview with various agencies within DAS located in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore, or Tokyo.
 

Internship Details

Interns at DAS Marketing Consultants will:
  • Provide desk research, brand analysis, advice on brand platform improvement, and supported proposal writing
  • Execute campaigns, such as writing PR articles, managing media, optimizing content, and doing logistics
  • Work with team members to launch new products and develop their brand identity
  • Monitor and report global competition and industry coverage, social media, opportunities, and relevant issue developments
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the line manager
Interns can expect to work from 9:30am-6:00pm, Monday through Friday, with a one-hour lunch break.

Eligibility

All GIP applicants must be current full-time, degree-seeking University of Pennsylvania students who are returning to their degree program full-time in the Fall semester.  All GIP applicants must also be in good academic and disciplinary standing.

The internship at DAS Marketing Consultants also requires applicants to meet the following eligibility criteria:
  • Creativity and enthusiasm
  • Passion for brands and marketing
     
Priority will be given to applicants who have the following criteria:
  • Marketing or public relations major

Please Note: Students who have participated in this program in the past OR who accepted a placement through this program in the past but then withdrew are not eligible to apply again.

Accommodation

Shanghai, ChinaStudents are responsible for finding their own accommodation.  DAS Marketing Consultants will provide interns accepted to this placement with suggestions as to where and how you can find safe, affordable, and comfortable housing close to your internship site.




 

Money Matters

All students accepted to the GIP will be awarded a Global Internship Program Scholarship.  GIP scholarship amounts vary by student, and award amounts are based on location of internship, length of internship, the student's need, and the student's merit. The internship placement application process includes the GIP scholarship application essay.

3. Once all requirements have been received and checked off, submit your application by the deadline
 
Don't Forget:
  • You may apply to a maximum of two (2) GIP programs.  You may open your first program application by following the above instructions.  To open a second application, you must first meet with the Global Internships Manager for an advising appointment.
  • Do not wait until the last minute to schedule your advising appointment, as appointment slots may fill!  Advising appointments will not be available from December 23rd-January 1st, so please plan ahead.
