|Cost Estimate Preparation: This cost estimate was prepared on November 15, 2017 for the Spring 2018 semester. These costs are approximations and are subject to change.
Exchange Rate: USD $1 = 65.3382 Indian Rupee (November 15, 2017)
Lodging and Meals: All accommodations during the entire program period. This includes during orientation, time in the program base (New Delhi), on all excursions, during the Independent Study Project or internship, and during the final evaluation period. Accommodation is covered by SIT Study Abroad directly, through a stipend provided to each student, or through the homestay. All meals for the entire program period are covered by SIT Study Abroad directly, through a stipend, or through the homestay.
Personal Expenses: Personal expenses during the program vary based on individual spending habits and budgets. While all meals and accommodations are covered in the room and board fee, incidentals and personal transportation costs differ depending on the non-program-related interests and pursuits of each student. Please note that free time to pursue non-program-related activities is limited.

Miscellaneous Fee: Recommended immunizations will have varying costs. Each student must bring an international phone with them to their program.
Additional Program Information: SIT requires a non-refundable deposit of $2,500. Penn Abroad pays this amount to SIT on behalf of Penn students as a courtesy. If the student decides not to participate in the program after committing, or does not meet relevant academic performance requirements by the end of the semester prior to studying abroad, he/she will be billed $2,500 by University of Pennsylvania to cover the non-refundable deposit. Additional withdrawal fees may apply depending on the date of withdrawal and SIT's withdrawal policy.
