Spring 2017 exchange students are planned to be assigned to Residence Hall Ikkyo-Ryo. The housing fee is based on the housing fees at Residence Hall Ikkyo-Ryo. Students also have the option of living in International House (Kunitachi) or International Village (Kodaira). Students should budget for the housing option they select and also be sure to budget in any additional fees.

Utilities and other housing expenses are not included in the lodging expense. Utilities are calculated as follows:

Utilities: 6500 yen/month for 4 months
Internet: 2000 yen/month for 4 months
Fire Insurance: 15,000 yen/semester (*13,000 of total acts as insurance deposit, refunded at conclusion of semester)
Linens: 15,000 yen/semester

Additional rates are calculated as follows:
    Meals: 60,000 yen/month for 4 months
    Books and supplies: 50,000 yen/semester
    Local transportation: 10,280 yen/month for 4 months
    Personal expenses:  20,000 yen/month for 4 months
Health Insurance: Japanese National Health Insurance at 1,500 yen/month for 4 months + 800 yen Personal Accident Insurance (mandatory)

The flight expense is the estimated cost of a round trip ticket from the East Coast to Tokyo (Narita Airport). Students living outside of the East Coast may need to arrange for a connecting flight to a gateway city at an additional variable cost, to be calculated individually by the student. Additionally, students may need to travel to a consulate to apply for and/or pick up a visa, again to be calculated individually by the student.
