Notes:

This cost estimate was prepared on April 14, 2017 for the Fall 2017 semester. These costs are approximations and are subject to change.

Most of the costs listed above are approximated by BCSP and are indicated in the BCSP handbook, which students receive upon acceptance.

Lodging, meals and personal expense costs are based on a 4-month period. Students should expect to pay one to two month's rent as a security deposit for an apartment in Bologna.

Mandatory Health Insurance:  Students studying in Italy may be required to purchase the Italian national insurance upon arrival.  Regardless of Italian coverage, students must still maintain their US health insurance coverage.

Visa fees: Include approximate cost for both the entry visa and permesso di soggiorno (residency permit).  Visa fees are subject to change; individuals should consult consulate websites.

The airfare price quoted above is based upon the average cost of a round-trip ticket from the gateway city of New York City to the program site. Students may depart from the city of their choice.

***Students living outside of a gateway city area may need to arrange for a connecting flight to a gateway city. These are additional variable costs, to be calculated individually by the student.

***Additionally, students may need to travel to a consulate to apply for and/or pick up a visa. These are additional variable costs to be calculated individually by the student.
