|Cost Estimate Preparation: This cost estimate was prepared on March 21, 2018 for the Fall 2018 semester. These costs are approximations and are subject to change.
Exchange Rate: USD $1 = 31.15 Thai Baht (March 21, 2018)
Lodging: When not in the field or staying in a community, students live in off-campus, air-conditioned, dorm-style room in a secured facility that also has internet s near Khon Kaen University (KKU). Each participant shares a room with a trained KKU student.
Meals: Meals are not provided except when staying in communities. Students can purchase meals reasonably at university cafeterias or local restaurants. Vegetarian options are available. A microwave and small refrigerator are provided in each room.
Personal Expenses: This estimate is meant to cover general expenses of college life, including additional course supplies, photocopying, toiletries, snacks, cell phone, etc. Personal expenses do not include any entertainment or vacation travel costs outside of program-related activities.

Additional Program Information: CIEE charges a $300 nonrefundable deposit which Penn pays to CIEE as a courtesy for Penn students. This happens once students change their application to "committed" in the Penn Abroad portal. However, if the student decides not to participate in the program after committing, or does not meet relevant academic performance requirements by the end of the semester prior to studying abroad, they will be billed $300 by the University of Pennsylvania to cover the nonrefundable deposit.
