Cost Estimate Preparation: This cost estimate was prepared on March 22, 2018 for the Fall 2018 semester. These costs are approximations and are subject to change.

Exchange Rate: USD $1 = 1,502.73 Lebanese pound (March 22, 2018)

Program Fee: These are AUB fees for activity, internet, and mandatory health insurance.

Lodging: Rooms in the AUB Dorm on Sidani Street (female dorm only) range from $2,000 for a double room to $3,800 for a Suite.

Meals: AUB dormitories lack cooking facilities which contributes to a higher cost of living due to meal expenses.  It is challenging to find a full lunch or dinner for under $10 in Beirut.

Personal Expenses: This estimate is meant to cover general expenses of college life, including additional course supplies, photocopying, toiletries, snacks, cell phone, etc. Personal expenses do not include any entertainment or vacation travel costs.

Additional Program Information:

Miscellaneous Fees: This program includes an $80 application fee (included within "Miscellaneous Fee" above) and a $300 confirmation fee upon acceptance to the program. Both expenses will be refunded to your student account when you commit to attending. Should you choose not to attend, or the student does not meet relevant academic performance requirements by the end of the semester prior to studying abroad, you will not be refunded the application fee or the confirmation fee. Upon arrival, students will be expected to apply for student residence permit, which carries a cost $250.00. Additionally, AUB also charges a $200 general deposit which will be refunded directly to you by AUB at the conclusion of your term abroad.
