This cost estimate was updated on April 14, 2017 for the Fall 2017 semester. These costs are subject to change.

Lodging; estimate is for a single room in one of KU Leuven's five international student residences.  Students who live in a double room should budget $1,600 for the semester.

Personal Expenses: estimate includes spending for daily essential needs, entertainment, and laundry.  Personal expenses will vary greatly depending on individual spending habits.

Visa Fee: estimate includes the $216 visa application fee, as well as the $200 Contribution Fee.  The Contribution Fee covers the administrative costs of processing a visa application and proof of payment must be submitted along with the visa application form at the time of application.  More information on the Belgian visa and Contribution Fee can be found here.

The airfare price quoted above is based upon the average cost of a round-trip ticket from the gateway city of New York City to the program site. Students may depart from the city of their choice.

***Students living outside of a gateway city area may need to arrange for a connecting flight to a gateway city. These are additional variable costs, to be calculated individually by the student. 

***Additionally, students may need to travel to a consulate to apply for and/or pick up a visa. These are additional variable costs to be calculated individually by the student.
